The Five Town Babe Ruth League serves youth between the ages of 13-15 in the towns of Camden, Rockport, Hope, Appleton, and Lincolnville, Maine. Our League operates within the MidCoast Maine Babe Ruth League.
The objective of this league is that, through the medium of a supervised, competitive baseball program, guided and governed by the national Babe Ruth League, FTBR will teach the fundamentals of baseball and instill a sense of community, sportsmanship, character, and athleticism. The attainment of exceptional athletic skill or winning is secondary, and the welfare of the participating youth is of primary importance.
The Five Town Babe Ruth League is governed by a Board of Directors, which is responsible for organizing player registration, conducting a draft of players, maintaining team rosters, providing uniforms, selecting and overseeing coaches, fundraising, and general League operation. The official season dates, game schedule, and All Stars season are established by the district MidCoast Babe Ruth League.
Our Babe Ruth regular season begins in early May and continues to the end of June. The MidCoast Babe Ruth League play-offs take place in early to mid July. There is also an All-Star season that occurs after play-offs. We play MidCoast teams including Damariscotta, Rockland, Wiscasset, Union, Georges Valley, and Waldoboro.
Why play Babe Ruth?
#1: Fun for baseball players who want to continue competitive play after Little League!
#2: Continue to develop skills and play into the summer months.
#3: Be part of a multi-age team that provides opportunities for growth and leadership over two or three years.
